▪Intro:
Located on the hillside between Xinhai Road and Wolong Street, Fuzhoushan Park (福州山公園) covers about 172,488 square meters at an elevation of 105 meters. Once a cemetery, it has been transformed into an eco-park focused on preserving natural landscapes and biodiversity. With lush woodlands, chirping insects, and birdsong along the trails, the park offers a refreshing escape from the busy city.
Inside the park, you’ll find well-maintained hiking paths with shaded pavilions for resting. From its viewpoints, visitors can admire sweeping views of Guanyin Mountain, Datun Mountain, and the Taipei cityscape. It is also considered one of the best places to enjoy the full skyline of Taipei 101, especially at sunset and night.
▪My Recommended Route
I usually start my visit around 3:00–4:00 PM:
① Take the MRT to Gongguan Station.
② Rent a Ubike right outside the station(Exit 2).
③ Ride leisurely through the beautiful National Taiwan University (NTU) campus.
④ In about 10 minutes, you’ll reach the park entrance, where a Ubike station is available for parking.
This timing allows you to arrive just before sunset(about 10min to site), so you can enjoy both the golden hour and the glittering Taipei night view from the observation points.
After soaking in the night view from Fuzhoushan Park, I usually return to Gongguan Station by Ubike and head straight to the lively Gongguan Night Market. It’s the perfect way to end the day—treating yourself to Taiwanese street food like braised snacks, scallion pancakes, bubble tea, and other local favorites.
▪Lighting: Some sections of the trail are unlit. Bring a flashlight or make sure your phone has enough battery to use its flashlight.
▪Weather: Summers in Taipei are hot and humid. Stay hydrated and adjust your pace according to your condition.
▪Best Time to Visit: Start between 3:00–4:00 PM to enjoy both sunset and night views of Taipei 101.
